Unfolding Eco Feminism....

Image
Though a girl, I am not too much into the concepts of liberal feminism. This can be attributed to my unique upbringing where, I am always free to decide and do what my heart speaks. To be precise, I don't have any restrictions and was given a chance to be myself.  But I was fascinated with the concepts related to "Eco Feminism"  and so this post is finding its place in my space. This concept is a fusion of patriarchal science, ecology, feminine history, ethology and more and  was explained by Susan Griffin, in her provocative feminist literature "Woman and Nature - The Roaring Inside Her". Eco feminism as I look at it: Women in general possess a special connection with the nature/ environment. But the oppression where, man dominates women and culture dominates nature is still in existence. The sapiens seek themselves superior than the natural environment (in this context, both men and women share common grounds) and are (with their activities) mak...

Chastity & Charity Begins at a [Colorful] HOME....

It's Life when it is Living at Home...   " A day starts at dawn and ends at dusk. And to someone like me both dawn and dusk are at HOME".  This is because, a HOME to me is the place where I can find enough solace, and so both my body and mind find their equilibrium. It is because of the unconditional love and the freedom that is filled in its air. At the end of a long, tiring day all I look up for is to rush home, sit back on my couch with legs stretched and have a steaming cup of coffee with my family. It is not just a block with rectangular walls and a roof but it is the only place on this earth which is a part of my mirth and melancholy. Filled with memories my 'HOME' is a place where all my imperfections seem perfect... It is the only habitat that bears all my interests and and of course my lazy habits and still smiles back at me...        My lovely warm little bed, which holds me till the sunrise...  A balcony proj...

Candles Tagged "Natural" & created from "Beeswax"...

Image
Recently I went on a holiday to my sister’s place where I got an opportunity to meet one of her friends. She is a well established candle maker holding a great business in her hands. My sister introduced me to her and I was called upon for snacks, where we had a simple conversation over the coffee table.  The Story: Few years ago, on her visit my sister presented me with some beautiful tea-light candles saying that they were natural and are made up using bees wax. She gave them along with the diffuser pot. They were pretty perfect and seemed fascinating with a lovely floral shape and had a fine texture. Just upon lighting them; they filled the entire room with some unknown serenity. Since then I was very much interested about the facts concerned with those natural candles.  During tea time, I had a chance to ask her some questions about her profession and the underlying facts behind using bees wax. She was so simple and answered every thing very patiently.  ...

Let us mind our Carbon footprint by Switching over to Green Living...

Image
Every detail of the earth we live on is an exquisite example of the nature's remarkable beauty. But today the pleasant ecstasy of the elegant earth is slowly turning bleak due to human activities that are having adverse effects on the environment indicating the high time for us to start being environmental conscious by minding our carbon footprint, which is the measure of carbon and other greenhouse gases emitted by us into the environment with our life styles, and shifting into green living.  As a part of this I share some of my views on making it count for green living starting right from our homes in such a way that they can aid us in making our earth invincible. Let us not only try shifting but also spreading the message of green homes by following these simple yet powerful things. Cut the carbon release : It is the responsibility of every individual living on this planet to prevent it from collapsing. And to achieve this we should follow ef...
