Chastity & Charity Begins at a [Colorful] HOME....

Image
It's Life when it is Living at Home...   " A day starts at dawn and ends at dusk. And to someone like me both dawn and dusk are at HOME".  This is because, a HOME to me is the place where I can find enough solace, and so both my body and mind find their equilibrium. It is because of the unconditional love and the freedom that is filled in its air. At the end of a long, tiring day all I look up for is to rush home, sit back on my couch with legs stretched and have a steaming cup of coffee with my family. It is not just a block with rectangular walls and a roof but it is the only place on this earth which is a part of my mirth and melancholy. Filled with memories my 'HOME' is a place where all my imperfections seem perfect... It is the only habitat that bears all my interests and and of course my lazy habits and still smiles back at me...        My lovely warm little bed, which holds me till the sunrise...  A balcony projecting my gr

"Just Being Yourself ..." --- Its my unwritten Diary!!!

Back after a long time in my space let me scribble something about my vanity, I call it so, can be a humdrum to few... so proceed on your will...   A girl, oops a woman.... going to turn 25 soon, is all what I am today and finally I take a moment to speak my heart out and type my mind down just to hold myself back in high spirits.          Though not a Maverick, I pose enough independence to express my views and so I am tagged as a recusant and of course a feminist since my school days, not an exception because a woman who voiced her opinions is termed so in our society. Never better today I am still the same individual carrying the swinging squeaky silent thoughts and an unknown willingness towards breaking stereotypes built through the past experiences not by hurting their feelings but by illustrating the swiftness of the present day and the need of the hour. At the same time,  I do call myself a flexible and a moldable kind all of which I owe to my educati

BHARATANATYAM - A Yogic Dance Form

Image
D ance, Music and Theatre arts hold a significant position in the records of Indian culture.  According to Indian Mythology, it is believed that all of these art forms had a sacred origin and Bharatanatyam is not an exception.  The legend of the art has its birth from Thanjavor of Tamil Nadu, situated in the South of India. The art form has attained its inspiration from the sculpture of Natraja, lord of the dance and the one representing the entire energy in the universe situated at the Chidambaram temple. History and the Technique: Famous as Bharatanatyam today, this dance form was previously called as "Koothu" in ancient India. It was exclusively practised by temple dancers (devadasi), which later spread across the royal court giving birth to the "Rajanartaki tradition". Bharatanatyam dance is a seamless blend of 'Natya' (dramatic element), 'Nritta' (rhythmic elements) and 'Nritya' (combination of rhythm with expression -'

Candles Tagged "Natural" & created from "Beeswax"...

Image
Recently I went on a holiday to my sister’s place where I got an opportunity to meet one of her friends. She is a well established candle maker holding a great business in her hands. My sister introduced me to her and I was called upon for snacks, where we had a simple conversation over the coffee table.  The Story: Few years ago, on her visit my sister presented me with some beautiful tea-light candles saying that they were natural and are made up using bees wax. She gave them along with the diffuser pot. They were pretty perfect and seemed fascinating with a lovely floral shape and had a fine texture. Just upon lighting them; they filled the entire room with some unknown serenity. Since then I was very much interested about the facts concerned with those natural candles.  During tea time, I had a chance to ask her some questions about her profession and the underlying facts behind using bees wax. She was so simple and answered every thing very patiently.  Here is the su

"I have a Dream." --- This is not a speech of Martin Luther King Jr...

Do you dream? How often do you dream? What all will you visualize in your dreams?  All these can make to the list of few quite common questions we come across in our day to day lives. But do we really know what they are? How they begin and what they can do to us? If you don't have any idea about what I am talking, then just check the later, or if you know and you feel that I went wrong do hold the honor of correcting me.  Dreams according to me are of two types... One , those that quite often remai n as unpicked fragments or messages sent to us from our subconscious memory and just fade away in the wake of reality.  Second,  those that you wish the world and yourself would see you becoming, and those that will not let you sleep.  If you think that this post is related to the former ones, or those dreams that toss themselves during the eight hours of our sleep, then there is no point of discussing over them, as we hardly remember things that pass over in that subconscious

Let us mind our Carbon footprint by Switching over to Green Living...

Image
Every detail of the earth we live on is an exquisite example of the nature's remarkable beauty. But today the pleasant ecstasy of the elegant earth is slowly turning bleak due to human activities that are having adverse effects on the environment indicating the high time for us to start being environmental conscious by minding our carbon footprint, which is the measure of carbon and other greenhouse gases emitted by us into the environment with our life styles, and shifting into green living.  As a part of this I share some of my views on making it count for green living starting right from our homes in such a way that they can aid us in making our earth invincible. Let us not only try shifting but also spreading the message of green homes by following these simple yet powerful things. Cut the carbon release : It is the responsibility of every individual living on this planet to prevent it from collapsing. And to achieve this we should follow effective ways to redu

"Mother You are Fantabulous" --- Mothering in my Mother's View....

I always wanted to start a blog of my own but was pretty unclear with what to write in it. But my passion towards writing made me frame this first blog post. I always wanted to make it special and so I am penning down about the most amazing person in my and of course in any individual's life, and that is none other than  MOTHER. Right from the moment we look into her eyes we start loving her and living her life. And so she does the same, practically even more, by showering her unconditional love and succeeds in transforming us into lovable and respectable citizens our society needs. She finds out all the means to comfort us, holds an open and a loving relationship with us and enjoys Motherhood , which she believes is her life's greatest gift. She regrows with us, remains our best buddy, cheers us when we are low, corrects us when we are wrong, and shares our pain and showers on us, pleasure through her unconditional love.      There are several such glorified moth
