Feeling LAZY in Winter--- No Wonder, It can be on your cards too!!!

"No winter lasts forever and No spring skips its turn." -Hal Borland
The soul sapping chill and the gloominess of the nature's coldest season is about to end and on this happy note; I take some time to make a post in my space...
WINTER, according to those reading this post can be a season with long nights and short days. It's often hard to decide between the two, which can either symbolize Mother Nature showing her pure beauty forming the clear ice or her harsh face through the piercing cold breeze. But to me, it is the time of the year when
My palate enjoys steaming coffee, gingerbread and cinnamon
Bare boughs of the trees in the backyard beat across the hard & cold winds,
Dew drops on the window pane makes the morning wish at noon &
All the warmth in the world can be found only under the quilt...

Reasons for a Lazy Winter day:

Since past the season of snow has been explained for the endurance offered by the hard beating of chilly winds which bring in a tiring and a sluggish environment .

Multiple reasons can explain our lazy mindset during the winter season. But let me list some reasons which I often give to simply explain my hibernation.
  • Increased blood pressure: Lower winter temperatures narrows the vessels that circulate blood to different parts of our body. This leads to an elevation in the blood pressure, which can be listed as a reason for our laziness.
  • Crucial chemical messengers: Two Hormones secreted by brain, namely the Serotonin and the Melatonin plays a crucial role during winter times. Increased production of Serotonin increases the appetite leading to the consumption of more starchy and fatty foods (for instance a slice of greasy pizza or some pasta) after all, not to forget the taste can take the attribution for our heavy feet during the cold days. On the other hand Melatonin produced in high levels during dark days acts on the biological clocks and alters our circadian rhythms causing drowsy heads and sleepy days.
  • Lack of Sunshine Vitamin: Vitamin D, which is produced by the body using sunlight, is pretty essential for burning fat and controlling appetite. During the dark days we rarely find this bright light. Even when we find some we appear covered up from tip to toe -- meaning less Vitamin leading to increased lethargic lifestyle.
After all the simplest reason I can list is the extreme coolant temperature seen outdoors doesn't actually seem favorable and so we prefer staying indoors.
Hope you can use them to support yourself for extended bed warmth on any other lazy day...
