Image
Bedtime can be considered as one important piece of time we tend to spend with our kids. A proper bedtime routine will not only help in maintaining our child’s health but can also help them to recharge and wake up well rested with a healthy brain. In order to attain such beauty sleep to your sweetheart, there are no specific hard and fast rules. However, one can build a wonderful bedtime routine by sharing some small bedtime stories, which can be fun and will turn the child's going to bed from a chore into an enjoyable event.              Also, sharing some stories with your little one while going to bed will not only leave you with some sweet memories that can last forever and will help in improving the child's imagination. It can help the child improve on her vocabulary as well and will understand the moral buried deep within each short tidbits. Our Bedtime Routine:      ...

Let me hug you one more time!!!

"Mamma!!!              I will wear my pant all by myself!!!!!  I will comb my hair all by myself!!! I can wear my Mickey sandals all by myself!!!” These are some of the early morning words I heard from my little Samyu, until which I did not know that she grew too big. She was not just telling these words but to my surprise doing these things all by herself. Her individuality spoke a lot and made me reflect and also realise few things about the future. I realised that my dear little munchkin is growing all big too quickly and one day there will be no messy toys lying on the floor for me to clean or no more pranks to play to make my fussy eater eat. I also know that there will be a day when no one will be standing knocking at the door and calling me out just for the sake of calling when I escape for a quick shower or sit on the kitchen counter and keep questioning me about everything I do out of great curiosity. In a flash I became aware t...

Significance of Bommala Koluvu

Image
F estivals are auspicious occasions to celebrate our well being. They spread in tranquility and are the right times to rejoice from our daily tumults.  The sacred Navrathri (Nine Nights), which are celebrated to symbolize the victory of good over the evil came to an end and so do the fun filled doll arrangements, the "BOMMALA KOLUVU",  which is carried over to us from our ancestors. What exactly is this Golu/ Bommala koluvu???                  To all those who are unfamiliar, it is a tradition where a collection of clay and wood idols of gods and goddess are displayed, which is carried over from one generation to other along with a new add-on every year.  Since my childhood, this festival conjures to me a special feast of celebration as it truly kindles the artistic flair buried deep inside us. The whole year we find our tradition coupled with our exc...

Clutter free Life... The Need of the Hour....

Image
Clutter is not just the waste found in our homes, attic or in the workplace, but most of us have it in our minds, which will constantly distract us from achieving great things. This must be true in most of the cases and so we look forward to leading a clutter free life, both in the house and in our minds. A beautiful quote by Eleanor Brown can be recollected in this instance, as it explains it all . "Clutter is not just the physical stuff. But it is the old ideas, toxic relationships or the bad habits, that doesn't support your better self." According to me, here are seven simple yet effective means to achieve a clutter free life. They include: Declutter your surroundings : Cluttered surroundings seem pretty messy and doesn't help us relax. So, try and practice discarding the unused stuff as early as possible.  Learn to say a Firm NO: Practice being polite, but at the same time learn to say a firm NO, if you are not happy with anything ha...

A Special Dad!!! “Father of a Daughter”

Image
A baby girl is a bundle of joy, who could love you immensely as a daughter. She could become a mother, wife, sister a friend and more one day. She showers her affectionate aroma around in the process of filling in peace and harmony. A daughter is a mother’s treasure, father’s pride and a precious gift of love. Raising a baby girl is never easy, but it is the loveliest hardship one could look forward for and happily accept. This is because the precious little one can rob your world with her innocent smile and make you live her life. A girl myself and now a mother to another sweet girl, I see the importance of role of father for the all-round development of a child. Father’s love is a most powerful tool, which can protect and empower his dear daughter. This is not at all an exaggeration, because as a girl child, I know the influence of my dad upon me. Often we speak about the mother and child’s relation, but rarely about the daddy-daughter bonding. Here in this post let me share s...

Role of Grandparents in a child's life...

Image
Every parent thinks about becoming a grandparent one day. Even with the changing trends in lifestyle, the role of grandparents, both paternal and maternal, remains equal and pretty crucial in a child's life. I consider myself unlucky as I lost mine, but still feel blessed because of my maternal gran , who is undoubtedly an impeccable woman. But, my dear Samyu is lucky as she is gifted to enjoy the affection of her grandparents.                                                        Grandparents often hold a dynamic role in the family and of course in the life of a child. They play with them, protect them, share fun, enlighten their minds, teach them the ethics and values with wisdom than they did as parents and love them to the bits. Though not the direct parents, the...
